Pastor Kara Root

Rev. Kara Root was called to Lake Nokomis Presbyterian Church in 2008.  She holds a M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary with training in Spiritual Direction, and is also a certified Christian Educator.  She has served churches in the Twin Cities, New Jersey and Los Angeles as Associate pastor, and in various Christian Education positions.  

Kara believes leadership and ministry are the shared call of the congregation, and she enjoys seeing the Spirit work through the collaboration of many different ideas and voices shaping our worship and discipleship.  At Lake Nokomis we share life together, learn from one another and seek to participate in what God is doing in the world.

Kara's husband and two children bring their own gifts and spirit to the community.
